Bath Time
Caleb got his first bath at home last night. It's amazing how he can go from screaming while we wash him to absolutely content wrapped in his puppy towel.

More visitors and "Welcome Home"
We had a few more visitors to see baby Caleb on Sunday night and Monday.
Doug, Stacey, and Peyton came to visit again on Sunday.

We were let go from the hospital on Monday around 1:00pm. Caleb finally got a chance to be introduced to his new home. In addition to that, we were surprised by Doug & Stacey with balloons, streamers, and signs saying "welcome home Caleb" hanging all over outside the house!

There was also a huge banner inside the house saying "Welcome Home Caleb!" that one of our parents and/or Seth & Joanna made.
Thank you everyone who came to visit us in the hospital and share our new bundle of joy. For those that couldn't make it, we're excited for you to meet him! Thanks again to our parents and Seth & Joanna for staying this weekend and helping with the dog & cat, cleaning the house, and making us some delicious casseroles. It is very much appreciated!
Lastly, here's Caleb chilling in his boppy before bedtime!

39 WEEKS
We are upon the eve of our baby entering the world. Tomorrow happens to be the 39 week mark and also the birthday of our little boy. Below is the 39 week information from babycenter.
"Our baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already weighs a bit over 7 pounds. The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath."
Here's Trish at 39 weeks.

Tomorrow's the big day! We'll be arriving at the hospital at 7:00am to begin the inducement and then things start to roll! The next post will be the introduction of our little one............!!!!!!!!

The End is Near!!!
Another week of tests at the hospital, and another week they tell us to wait. Although at the end of our appointment yesterday the nurse asked us if we knew we were scheduled for an induction next Friday. We said "NOOOOOOOOO!?!?!" At last! We now know that our doctor plans to induce Trish on Friday, September 24th at 5:30am. We are so excited and now the final countdown can begin.
We got a couple more pictures of our boy and he definitely looks ready to meet us. The first one shows his hand really well in front of his face. This stinker has ALWAYS had his hands in front of his face every time we've had an ultrasound.

The next pic shows his cheeks all smooshed up again. He's gonna have some chubby cheeks!!!

WEEK 38
Well, we've reached week 38. Below is the information from babiesonline.
"Our baby could be gaining as much as one full ounce of weight per day now. While he continues to urinate and practice breathing, our baby is also storing meconium (our baby's first bowel movement) in his intestines. His lungs are continuing to mature and his grasp has become even firmer than before. Our baby is approximately 20 inches long and weighs about 6 1/2 to 7 pounds. Almost all babies born now will live with little medical intervention."
While this website gives us a great guess at the weight, we actually found out last Wednesday, based on ultrasound that he weighed 7 lbs and 3 ozs. So if he gained an ounce a day since then, he now weighs 7 lbs and 10 ounches!!!!
Here's a picture of Trish after we got home today from more hospital visits.

Trish is definitely ready to be done with bed rest and has probably watched every Red Box movie available for rent. We're hopeful that our little man gets here soon!!!

Big Boy
Trish has been admitted to the birthing suite here at the hospital today following her morning OB appointment due to high blood pressure. They have been monitoring the baby and he sounds absolutely perfect. Trish's blood pressure remains a little high and they want to keep her on 24 hour hospital bed rest for the night and do a couple more tests in the morning. There's a possibility that she might be induced as early as this Friday!
While here at the hospital today, an ultrasound tech came to the room and checked on the baby's size and amniotic fluid levels. The ultrasound went well, and the baby is measuring big. He has an estimated weight of 7 lbs 3 ozs based on his size. That puts him in the 82nd percentile! Here's a couple pics from the ultrasound.
This first one shows his face all squished up!

This next one is a profile picture. Not the greatest, but you can kind of make it out if you know what to look for!

37 weeks!
I don't have any good pictures for the 37 week update, but I've got some interesting and exciting news to write about....
I've taken this week's update from www.babiesonline.com instead of babycenter because I'm getting tired of babycenter comparing my boy to these weird, foreign fruits and vegetables. So here's the update, 37 weeks.
"Our baby is continuing to grow and gain weight during these last few weeks. Also, he is practicing breathing movements in preparation for the outside world. Our baby will also turn his head towards light and sound just as a newborn would. Around this time our baby's head should be down. By the end of the week, our baby will come to full term. Our baby could be born at any day now! Our baby is anywhere from 19 to 20 inches long and weighs approximately 6.5 pounds."
In other news, Trish has had some high blood pressure in the last week and is being monitored a little more closely by her doctor. The baby has sounded great all along and if the blood pressure remains high there's a possibility that she'll be induced as early as this Friday! We will keep you updated if it comes to that!
Goodbye for now.

Labor Day is OVER!!!
Labor Day is the single busiest day for Andy at work. The camping crowd from the holiday weekend moves out and the super national race crowd is lined up ready to move into the campground. He got to work yesterday at 5am and didn't come home until 6pm! It was a looooong day. But the clientele makes for some interesting experiences. Case in point.....the picture below is what one man actually camped in all weekend! Very interesting.....
