Computer Problems

We've been having trouble with our computer recognizing our memory card lately and that's why we haven't regularly been posting cute pictures of our little boy. Here's a couple pics from last week that Andy took with his cell phone.

Here's Caleb at bathtime. He takes baths in the tub now, and not on the kitchen counter anymore. His new favorite pasttime is splashing in the tub, and it's WAY easier to let the water go down the tub drain then it is to wipe it up off the kitchen floor!

This picture is Caleb napping in his stroller at Inspiration Point in the park.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was a good one for everyone, except Andy....he had to work all weekend! But on Friday, Trish packed up the little man and went to her mom & dad's in Missouri Valley. They had fun visiting Grandpa & Grandma Lesher and came back on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Grandma Mary and Grandpa Bob came over to visit little Caleb! They went for a walk on the new bike bridge. Here's some pics from their excursion.

They all had a great time and thanks to Grandma Mary & Grandpa Bob for coming to see us!

Patio Farmer

This summer Andy is farming on the back deck instead of in the garden. Since he's watching Caleb on his days off, they are growing veggies in pots and towers on the deck.

Here's the tomato tower. There's 4 tomato plants and 1 green pepper plant hanging on the underside. On top you'll find two rows of crisp lettuce and 9 plants of green beans. Also tucked in there on top is a lone strawberry plant!

Then in the corner of the deck, there's a pot with a couple cucumber plants and a another couple green beans. The idea is that the cucumbers will climb the deck rails and produce giant cucumbers for some delicious salads! You'll also notice a lone green pepper plant hanging out in the hanging basket. In a few weeks you should notice a nice surprise growing around the green pepper plant. But that'll be for another post....

Look for more updates throughout the summer on the back deck garden....

8 months!!!

Today is Caleb's 8 month birthday! It's hard to believe that he's already 2/3 the way to his 1st real birthday! Caleb is a whopping 20.3 pounds (according to Wii Fit) and measures somewhere in the neighborhood of 29 inches (according to Andy's tape measure!) Andy had the day off with Caleb today and they had quite the adventure. Here's a recap of their day.....

Here's Caleb talking with Mom in the kitchen before she left for work. You can tell he looks a little sleepy still.

Then after some play time and a good bottle of milk, the little guy took a nice long nap.

After the nap we took a walk to the campground in the park where we visited the campground host Nancy. She hadn't seen Caleb since last fall right after he was born! Here he is getting ready to take off on the walk!

After the walk we hung around the house, played with some cool toys, watched some cartoons, and then had some lunch. Following lunch we packed up the bike and new bike trailer and headed for the new Woodward to Ankeny trail. The trail features a newly constructed bridge over the Des Moines River that's for non-motorized traffic. It provides amazing views up and down the river valley and we enjoyed riding across it.

Following the bike ride I had a tired boy on my hands.

And we got home just in time to beat out the storm!

The rest of Caleb's day was filled with toys, a bath, and some relaxation with mom & dad!
