Maiden Voyage

Trish took the afternoon off today, so while she worked during the morning Andy & Caleb got the boat all ready to go for the summer. Then we took it down to Big Creek this afternoon to see how she handled on the water. Here's Caleb who just can't wait for the boat to be put in, he's got to have his feet wet!

Of course it helps if Dad puts the plug in the boat BEFORE he puts it in the water too. We were about 5 minutes from scraping our boat off the bottom of the lake! Problem was fixed in short order though and we were finally on the water.

It was Caleb and Trish's first time ever in the boat since we got it last summer. Although it was a little small for a toddler, he did just fine and didn't seem to mind his life jacket the whole time.

The Zoo

Mom & Dad had a day off together last Tuesday, so they decided to take Caleb on his first trip to the zoo! We went to Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, the same place little Andy went with his parents 30 some years ago! Caleb watching the otters

Been Awhile

I know it's been awhile since our last post, so I thought I'd send out a few pictures and updates. Everything's still going great in the Bartlett household. Caleb won't stop growing and says more new words and phrases each day! Sarge is also bulking up and is quite the handful sometimes! Here's Caleb sporting his new Batman pajamas.

Daddy got himself a new office assistant at the Ledges too. He's not sure how well this one will work out though!

Mommy and Daddy are doing good too. Work has kept us busy and now Andy's on his summer work schedule so we don't get many days off together. But we are still having fun with Caleb on the days we do get off.

Caleb's First Haircut

I know many of you probably are saying "Caleb doesn't have any hair to begin with!" And while this is somewhat true, the hair he did have was growing in like a Missouri Mullet. So we tried to divise the best course of action to get the hair on the back of his head cut without him freaking out. While at Grandma Mary's this past weekend Andy got his hair all trimmed up and after he was done we just shifted right to Caleb.

The initial plan of attack was just to start in on it while he was playing with his tractors on the step.

While back this weekend visiting our new nephew Jeremiah, Andy's cousin Sara Rose had her baby too!! She wasn't due until the end of April, but decided since we were already there, she'd have the baby as a convenience for us!

Unlike Jeremiah, who came into the world just shy of 10 pounds, little Charlie came to us weighing only 5 pounds! But he is a healthy little man and he'll catch up quick!

Jeremiah Bartlett

On Wednesday, April 11th at 6:41am, Andy & Trish joined the ranks of Uncle and Aunt! Andy's brother Seth and his wife Joanna gave birth to a beautiful and BIG baby boy! Jeremiah Daniel Bartlett came to the world weighing 9 lbs and 7 ozs! Baby and momma are happy and healthy and all were back at home by Friday.

We went to Solon this past weekend to meet the new baby and enjoy some family time. Our travels took us straight to Mercy Hospital in Iowa City on Thursday night to meet the baby. Here's Trish holding her new nephew.

Once Seth, Joanna, and Jeremiah returned home from the hospital, we went to visit again on Saturday. Here's the mural Seth painted for the baby's room.
